We import solar lanterns and home lighting kits into Ethiopia for distributors, retailers, cooperatives and development programmes working with off-grid households. They replace kerosene lamps and candles with light that costs nothing to run once installed, and most units also charge a mobile phone.
What the units do
- Room and task lighting from an integrated solar panel and battery
- Mobile phone charging from the same unit
- Larger kits that run additional lights, a radio, a fan or a small television
- Operation independent of the grid, so light continues through a blackout
Why households buy them
Kerosene is a recurring cost and an indoor fire and fume risk; a lantern is paid for once. For a household off the grid it means children can study after dark and a phone can be charged at home rather than paid for at a kiosk, which is often the practical reason a unit gets bought.
What to specify
The figures that decide the quotation are the light output and runtime you need, the panel and battery size, whether phone charging is required, and the warranty period. Tell us those and the quantity, and we will confirm what is available.
How we quote
Quotations are landed cost, covering goods, freight, duty and clearance. Programme and bulk orders are quoted individually, with delivery scheduling agreed in advance.
